Making A Difference
As we begin a new school year let’s work together to give our children the best opportunity to succeed. Children have a better chance at succeeding in school when families get involved. Your attitude toward learning will affect how well your kids do in school. If you show that you care how well they do, your children will try harder.

Family Tips To Get Involved:

1. Attend Back-To School Night
  • Ask each teacher how much homework should be expected on a nightly basis and how long should a typical assignment take.
  • Find out if there are any projects that will be due throughout the year.
  • Ask about the grading policy.
  • Ask how often the teacher informs students of their grade.
  • If you have any concerns, find out when the teacher is available for a conference.
  • Let the teacher know you would like to hear immediately if your child is not being cooperative or not completing homework in a timely manner

2. Set expectations of your child – Set them up for success.

  • Require a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.
