Closed Campus
Alamitos is a closed campus. Therefore, once you have arrived at
school, you may not leave without proper authorization from the
office until the end of the school day. All visitors must register
at the school office. All others will be asked to leave. Failure to
comply may result in arrest.
You Miss School – You Miss Out
A satisfactory explanation, in writing, is required each time you
miss part or all of a school day. It is the students responsibility
to get and make up missed assignments. Attendance at school is
essential for success. In order not to fall behind because of an
extended absence, we will provide homework for absences of more than
2 days. The work will be expected back after as many days as the
absence.
Truancy: If you are absent without permission you are
considered TRUANT. You will receive 1 hour of detention for every
period missed from school, and a possible referral to the Truancy
Reduction Center, Community Service hours and a possible referral to
the School Attendance Review Board.
READMIT PROCEDURES FOLLOWING ABSENCE
VERY IMPORTANT!!
If you are absent for part or all of a school day, you are to take a
written explanation to the Attendance Office by 8:15 a.m. on the day
you return. The secretary will issue you a READMIT SLIP. The READMIT
SLIP is a very important piece of paper. You will take the readmit
slip to every class you missed the previous day and have each
teacher sign the readmit slip. Failure to have a readmit slip will
result in a tardy for that class. Your 6th period teacher will keep
it at the end of class. If you lose the readmit slip anytime during
the day, you will have to return to the Attendance Window for a
copy.ARRIVING AND LEAVING TIME
Students are not permitted on school grounds until 8:10 a.m., unless
they eat a school breakfast. Breakfast is served in the
multi-purpose room from 7:50 – 8:20 a.m. After school, students are
required to leave campus immediately unless attending intervention,
detention, Boys & Girls Club or sports.
ALAMITOS TARDY POLICY
It is very important for you to be in class on time. When you are
late you miss valuable instructions and disrupt the class.
